Who manufactures the Quantum Computers?
Quantum Computers, LLC is a manufacturer, dealer and distributor of Notebook Computers. We do a little bit of everything.
Many of the most popular computer companies do NOT make their own notebooks. There are only a handful of true notebook manufacturers in the world.
Most of the "Name Brand" Companies DO NOT manufacture their own laptops, with the exceptions being Asus, IBM,Twinhead and Apple. Even IBM, Twinhead and Apple do not manufacture ALL of their line themselves. I have read that Asus is the only company in the world that completely designs and manufactures their entire line of computers.
All of the rest buy their laptops from what is called an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM). These ODMs sell their computers to several different OEMs who then install the Hard Drive, Processor, System Memory and Wireless Card. They then put their label on it and market it.
For example:
An ODM named Compal makes some of the DELL, Hewlett Packard and Compaq line of laptops.
Original Design Manufacturers - ODMs are the true manufacturers who actually cast, and assemble the main unit which includes the motherboard, outside casing, and display. A few examples of ODMs are Quanta, Compal, Clevo, Mitac, Asus, Aopen (Acer), Uniwill, and TwinHead-- probably companies you have never heard of before. Although you have definitely seen their systems under other well known brand names. ODMs are usually located somewhere in Asia, and may have distribution centers in the US. ODMs distribute their product to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
OEMs add the ram, processor, hard drive, and software to the systems. The OEMs perform final assembly and stick their label (Brand) to it, and call themselves manufacturers. Their products are then sold directly to dealers/resellers like Quantum Computers or directly to the public (ie. DELL).
IBM buys from Quanta and Arima. Toshiba buys from Uniwill. DELL buys most of their systems from Aopen (Acer), Compal, and Quanta.
So if you purchase a notebook from Quantum Computers, it is most likely a Clevo, Compal, MSI, Uniwil,l or an Asus. You're getting a 'Brand Name' notebook without the 'brand name' pricing games, advertising, and other junk software. Our Label on the lid of the notebook will most likely say "Quantum Computers", "Stylenote", or "Notebook"...but it comes off the same assembly line as the Big Name "Marketing Companies" that have you thinking they are actually Manufacturers.
We actually customize each computer individually. We don't mass produce computers that sit on a shelf and wait for just anybody to buy them. If you have special requests for software or hardware changes, we can usually accommodate your requests. Mass produced computers have just about every background service turned "on"...actually slowing down your system. We take into consideration who you are and how you will use your computer. This gives us the ability to only turn on the features of your computer and the software that you are going to use. We call that "Optimizing the System"; and that is specific to your personal use of the computer which makes it optimal system for YOU...not for the entire population.
So with this information being clearly presented, we hope you have a different view of the terms "Name Brand", "No Name" and "Clone". These terms really have no bearing on the laptop industry. At Quantum Computers, we handle our own service and technical support...we are in Michigan USA not India or some other country. Our Standard Office Hours are 9:00 A.M. to 6:P.M. EST. Monday - Friday, sometimes longer but not 24/7, and our response time is excellent should you get our voicemail. |
